Matt’s practice is concentrated in the areas of tax, estate, and business planning.  He has handled a broad range of estate planning matters, large and small.  Matt is experienced with a wide variety of issues relating to business organization and succession planning, as well as both federal and state tax compliance and controversies, including the Vermont land gains tax; meals and rooms tax; and the use valuation program.  He has also been involved in a number of immigration matters, dealing primarily with marriage-based visas, religious worker petitions, and NAFTA Treaty workers.

Matt was raised in Rutland, Vermont, where he attended Rutland High School.  After law school Matt returned to Rutland, where he lives with his wife, Holly, and their daughters, Eliza and Anna.  Matt is active with the Rutland South Rotary Club, Grace Congregational Church, and Rutland Masonic Lodge #79.  He also serves on the board of directors for the Rutland County Boys and Girls Club.  If he is not doing any of these things, he can likely be found at the gym, on the tennis court, or reading history.
