Careers at Kenlan, Schwiebert, Facey & Goss, P.C.
Kenlan, Schwiebert, Facey & Goss, P.C., is always looking for strong legal and paralegal professionals who want to be part of a collegial, devoted group of legal practitioners.
Set among the mountains of central Vermont and at the foot of one of the largest ski resorts in the east, Kenlan offers its lawyers and para-professionals the opportunity to practice at a sophistication level comparable to urban law firms while also enjoying a quality of life that is unapproachable by the large city firm experience.
Today, the firm has seven partners, seven associates, two of-counsel attorneys and four paralegals, making it a "mid-sized” firm by Vermont standards. The firm is young and energetic with attorney ages ranging from 26 to 55.
KSF&G maintains expertise in a number of practice areas in which only a handful of Vermont firms offer counsel. We invite you to explore this website to get a better sense of our practice groups. The firm has a commitment to professional excellence and continuing legal education. All firm attorneys are licensed to practice in both in the state and federal court systems.
In addition to the areas of concentration described in the firm’s practice groups, firm attorneys are also involved in research and drafting of legislation within their areas of concentration. Members and associates are actively involved in presenting continuing legal education programs for members of the Vermont Bar within their respective areas of practice concentration. All attorneys are encouraged to publish in appropriate legal journals and periodicals.
New associates joining the firm practice in a wide variety of areas with an emphasis on litigation, general real estate, Vermont land use law, commercial finance and business law. While specialization to some extent is encouraged and flows naturally from the development of a client base over time, firm attorneys are expected to maintain a working knowledge of several areas of the law.
The firm’s standards are very high, and all attorneys, partners and associates alike, are expected to produce the finest possible work product with an emphasis on service to the client.
The firm offers its staff, including permanent attorneys, a comprehensive paid benefits package including health, disability and life insurance, 401(K) and profit sharing plan.
Attorneys are generally allowed two weeks of vacation per year for the first three years of employment and three weeks per year thereafter.
Membership in the firm is partially upon establishment of a client-base and a significant level of self-generated receipts. For a new lawyer who is aggressive and ambitious, Kenlan, Schwiebert, Facey & Goss, P.C., provides a unique opportunity to grow with a closely knit group of people committed to maintaining the highest standard of legal practice in an environment that fosters an excellent quality of life.
